The ultimate underwater musical experience

After the sell-out success of last year's event, the ultimate underwater musical experience returns to the eerie chambers of Woodside Leisure Centre. With the pool transformed into a darkened listening chamber and radiating soft light, listeners move in and out of the water as two separate soundsystems create an immersive and unforgettable experience both under and over the water.

Live electronics over water come courtesy of Joel Cahen and La Horrox, with a cinematic electro-acoustic set and voice and modulated electronics respectively.

"Astonishingly immediate, inescapable, and faintly perplexing." The Guardian

Your Sister's Sister Is Opening Gala

Glasgow Film Festival 2012 has announced a packed programme of premieres, special guests and unique events. GFF 2012, funded by Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, Creative Scotland and EventScotland, is one of the first major events in the Year of Creative Scotland and runs from 16-26 February in sixteen venues across the city.

Opening

Photo: your sister's sister. The Festival will open on Thursday 16 February with the UK premiere of Your Sister's Sister, the latest feature from Humpday creator Lynn Shelton who was recently chosen by Variety as one of their '10 Directors to Watch in 2012'. Arriving in Glasgow after its Sundance screening, Your Sister's Sister is a StudioCanal release and stars Emily Blunt, Rosemarie DeWitt and Mark Duplass in a painfully funny and utterly captivating tale of bad timing, broken hearts and the healing power of love. Shelton's most impressive work to date has been winning rave reviews and glowing comparisons to the films of Woody Allen and Eric Rohmer.

The Lighthouse

9/12/2011 - 17/04/2012

Gallery 2

The Lighthouse, 11 Mitchell Lane, Glasgow G1 3NU

Do we really value our High Streets or are they simply past their sell by date? With vacancies up and shopper numbers down is it time to re-think? In Scotland the High Street began as a market place, a hub of social activity - busy, raucous and messy. This exhibition shows their evolution, our changing shops and shopping habits and the impact this has had today. Specially commissioned films gather people's stories of the High Street, from butchers and bakers to professors and planners. It looks to the future with remedies that make our High Streets good value, vital in creating unique and thriving places.

Every pub on Ashton lane will be getting involved with stalls inside and outside their premises. Local talent and an eclectic mix of stalls will grace the cobbles on Sunday afternoons to supply local people with goods ranging from homemade jam and bread to jewellery and even vintage clothes with local artists thrown in as well. No charge to browse the stalls and pick up your very own homemade and unique item.

The market will run from noon and have stalls braving the elements every Sunday to bring local people a choice of different goods that you can't get anywhere else.
