Sudanese Community in Edinburgh Fundraising

sudanese community in edinburgh

Message from The Sudanese Community in Edinburgh:
‘Across the UK, 17 Sudanese community organisations are coordinating fundraising activities to support the Covid-19 relief effort in Sudan. Our joining-up is being facilitated by ‘The Union of Sudanese Communities in the U.K’ (USC).
USC has arranged a bank account to receive donations direct from individuals and community groups. Funds from this account are currently being used to purchase vital medical equipment needed throughout Sudan; for example, oxygen canisters.
This is a particularly challenging year for people in Sudan, who are battling the global pandemic in the midst of a fragile transition from military dictatorship to democratic civilian government.
We are honoured & grateful to the makers of ‘A Handful of Dates’ film, who have this week waived their professionals fee from AiM in favour of donating this to our urgent appeal.’
On  Friday 5 June, 2020 viewers can make donations by bank transfer to the following account, using the reference ‘COVAID 19′:’
The Sudanese Community in Bristol
Account no.: 16735668
Sort code: 600238
Donations great and small are highly valued, and go directly to supporting Sudan’s medical infrastructure in areas that were only just recovering from the targeting of medical professionals by the Bashir regime throughout 2019.
