The Exhibition – ‘It Was The Loom That Broke My Heart’ is a multimedia installation created by visual artist Marie-Claire Lacey and sonic artist Adam Stearns which will be exhibited at French Street Gallery during Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival 2023. This collaborative exhibition responds to the sociohistorical significance of the site, originally used as a weaving and dyeworks. Adam and Marie create a series of audiovisual artworks informed by research into the building, its heritage and the effects of industrialisation on traditional weaving processes.

OPENING TIMES – 8th-17th of September 2023 (open Sat-Sun between 11am and 5pm / Mon-Fri between 12-3pm)

Opening night: 8th of September, 7pm – 10 pm (not open during the day on the 8th).

Supported through the Jerwood New Work Fund and Creative Scotland’s Open Fund.
