2018 Music Programme – Kelburn Garden Party

KELBURN CASTLE, AYRSHIRE

29 June – 2 July, 2018

As always your ears and feet will be treated to a wide range of quality sounds for party people. There will be funk, folk, reggae and jazz. House, techno, hip-hop, disco and world music. And lots of surprises! The big news this year is that there will be upgrading and expanding one of the dance arenas, The Landing, to create a brand new high-end audio electronic music experience. To celebrate this fact some big names will play there, including UK underground legend and goldfather of jungle Goldie, alongside Chali 2na & Krafty KutsThe 2 Bears and Auntie Flo, among others.

They are joined on the line-up by some really great talent: Ibibio Sound Machinefinally get to blast their infectious afro-funk at Kelburn, Macka B brings his legendary “voice of reggae”, Europe’s #1 tastemaker DJs Dekmantel Soundsystem debut, O.G. DMC chap and Scratch Pervert Mr Thing rolls into town, Chinese Man vocalist Taiwan MC flies in from Paris, and the mighty globetrotting folk supergroup The Turbans make up just a few of this year’s programme. There will be some great stage takeovers, with The SkinnyElectrikalHighlife RecordsFirst Word and Uganda’s Nyege Nyege Festival all helping curate this year’s festival.

There are many many more acts to be announced soon, performing across 7 stages set in unrivalled natural beauty around Kelburn’s fairytale site, alongside site-specific artworks in the Neverending Glen,  pop-up performancescircus showslate-night cabaret and physical theatre that are as much a key to the event as the main musical programme.
