The Insect Embassy, Victoria Park
Sunday 22 August, 2021, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Outdoor Event For Families – Theme: Nature and Biodiversity
The Fossil Grove, Victoria Park, Victoria Park Drive South, Whiteinch, Glasgow G14 9NW
The Insect Ambassador to COP26 is proud to announce the inaugural opening of the Insect Embassy at Victoria Park in Glasgow on Sunday 22 August between 1- 4pm.
Insect Ambassadors are being sought to promote the wellbeing of the Insect Nations to Governments and Leaders as part of COP26.
The Fossil Grove will be the base because it has evidence of our Insect History in the Carboniferous Period, when mighty 2.5 metre insects roamed Scotland.
Come and make your own antennae headpiece, discover/create one of the 4 million undiscovered invertebrates on the Planet and send a message to World Leaders on a postcard. See evidence of where our giant insect ancestors roamed. Suitable for all ages.
Free Event
The event is organised by The Hold Your Breath Organisation – which encourages local people and companies to take part in the regeneration of their area, welcoming contributions from everyone according to their ability. Promoting education in Science and the Arts …and Fun.
