A Celebration of Glasgow -History -Heritage – Traditional Skills

Free Event  – Just Come Along

As part of WestFest, come along to Cottiers for a day filled with history, heritage and traditional skills. Outside, you will have the opportunity to get some hands-on experience with slating with the Scottish Traditional Skills Forum and demonstrations in sign writing and stone carving by Glasgow City College.

The theatre will be filled with a range of stalls hosted by heritage and history organisations for visitors to seek advice, to delve into Glasgow’s history and learn about how to become involved in Scotland’s heritage.

We will also be hosting a tour of the building during the day at 1.30pm. For the tour please meet at the Cottiers bar.
This is a FREE event designed to spark interest in Glasgow’s history, buildings and traditional skills. Some stalls will also be available to offer career advice for those wishing to get into heritage, history, traditional skills or related careers.

Cottiers Bar and Restaurant is a most attractive and flexible venue in  Glasgow’s West End. Previously, Dowanhill Church, it is one of only three surviving Scottish churches famously decorated by Daniel Cottier, the revolutionary artist-designer when it was built in 1865.  Food and Drink Full Details at Cottiers.
