Occupy! Occupy! Occupy! – graphic novel launch
Friday 12 August, 2022, 4 p.m. – 5 p.m.
At The Deep End Govanhill Baths
2021 marked 20 years since the incredible occupation of Govanhill Baths by the Southside Against Closures – Save Our Pool campaign. The occupation ran from the 21st March – 7th August 2001, the longest occupation of a public building in British history. To celebrate they held a number of events throughout the year which culminated in a two-day conference in December. The graphic novel, Occupy! Occupy! Occupy!, presents material from the conference which used the occupation of Govanhill Baths as a starting point to explore occupations as a tactic in industrial, community, student and environmental disputes in Scotland.
