WestFest’s Director is Brendon McIlroy who founded the festival in 2022 in response to ‘overwhelming demand’ for community and cultural events in the West End, in the absence of former festivals.
Brendon says, ‘We’re absolutely delighted to be launching WestFest’s 2024 programme. We’ve been hard at it for 6 months, pulling together a diverse mix of events, with our focus this year being to reach further across the West End to produce and feature events in areas we haven’t historically delivered in. After all, the West is bigger than Hillhead ‘
Brendon continues, ‘Things are generally rather bleak for people just now, with the country facing a range of unprecedented challenges. With WestFest we’re focusing on providing some levity and enrichment, and also opportunity for communities to come together. All of the outdoor community events WestFest produce are free and accessible to all… and always will be!’
