Songs Of Travel – Robert Louis Stevenson

On Saturday, 10th May this year Glasgow Cathedral is playing host to the Robert Louis Stevenson Club who will have a tour of the building followed by a concert given by soloists from the Cathedral Choir.

The recital, which will be held in the Nave, will feature some of Stevenson’s best loved poems set to music and will centre round Vaughan Williams’ setting of “Songs of Travel” featuring bass-baritone Dominic Barberi . The tenor soloist will be our Director of Music, Richard Pratt and they will be accompanied on piano by Julia Lynch. The recital will be open to the public and is sure to be a spectacular evening in celebration of one of Scotland’s best-loved wordsmiths.

Refreshments will be served after the recital.

This will be an excellent evening, full of wonderful poetry set to beautiful music.
