Stuart Cosgrove – HEY AMERICA! The Epic Story of Black Music and the White House
Writer and presenter Stuart Cosgrove explores how successive presidents have recruited musicians to boost their election campaigns and help shape public policy – often with disastrous consequences. From the Vietnam War’s influence on soul and Obama’s love of Prince to the rise of Black Lives Matter in opposition to Donald Trump, this discussion will fascinate fans of music and politics alike.
Tidelines is delighted to welcome Stuart back to open their 2022 festival. The evening will include live music from the incredible KITTI, winner of The Scottish Jazz Award’s Best Vocalist & Scottish Music Awards’ Best Female Breakthrough.
