Glasgow Film Festival: Luz the Flower of Evil

1 and 2 March, 2020
CCA, 350 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow G2 3JD
The screening on 2 March will be followed by a Q&A with the director Juan Diego Escobar Alzate.
Widowed preacher and leader of a small mountain community, El Señor has preached to his followers that a new messiah will appear and shepherd them into a new era. His faith is absolute, regardless of how many false prophets he has to go through. But the faith of his three daughters is beginning to waver and as they start to question their father, things take a shockingly violent turn. In the same vein as The Witch and Midsommar, this is a nightmarish vision of the effect that loss and grief can have on a family.
