Barwheys is an award winning hard Ayrshire cheese of the highest quality.

Tricia will be spending the day at George Mewes this Saturday; chatting about Barwhey’s cheeses and letting you try some and see what you think for yourself.

PrintBarwheys is made exclusively from the unpasteurised milk of our special herd of pedigree Ayrshire cattle that graze on the green pastures that surround our dairy. The cheese is made by hand, bandaged in traditional cotton cheesecloth and carefully aged on wooden shelves for between ten and fourteen months.

live58211_img_0886George Mewes sources wonderful award wining cheeses from the British Isles, France, Italy, Spain and Switzerland. For his shop he specially selects and tastes cheeses by visiting Herve Mons-Fromager Affineur caves in Saint-Haon-Le-Châtel in the Loire France and also Neal’s Yard Dairy in London.

Cheeses have been matured in specialised conditions to ensure the finest taste and texture.
