Glasgow West End: Pat's Guide to shopping: Galleries, Cards and Gifts

The West End has a great range of card and gift shops. These are some of my favourites:

• Christo's Glasgow
• The Nancy Smillie Shop
• Galletly and Tubbs
• The Store - Furniture and Art Warehouse
• The Coach House Trust Shop - Handcrafted furniture.

Felix and Oscar Felix and Oscar's De Courcy's Arcade, Cresswell Lane, Glasgow G128AA. Tel: 0141 339 0269- the coolest shop on the planet. A perfect mix of fun and fashion, it brings a little bit of magic to the West End shopping scene.

Nancy Smillie also in 53 Cresswell Lane, (334 4240) is one of the better known designers with a great range in ceramics. This is a lovely shop with a small gallery attached selling paintings and furniture. The shop is really interesting and very tasteful. Read the full feature

Papyrus

374 Byres Road, (334 6514). Modern and attractive with a wide range of cards and gifts. I love their candles cards and their cook shop, which is a boon to serious cooks such as our own Lindsay Hopwood. You are also likely to see chefs from local restaurants pop in for utensils. Papyrus has something for everyone - children find their selection of fancy pencils and fascinating knick knacks.
