Photo: Black Dress. Moon LogoAnnie Good - sleek, chic and very stylish Westender is a perfect advertisement for her designer clothes shop Moon. (10 Ruthven Lane, Hillhead. Tel: 0141 339 2315). The shop is a haven of delight and Annie has worked hard to achieve success and put Moon firmly in the frame of the fashion world. Annie has made it her business to know the fashion business, combining flair, care and confidence to provide customers at Moon with a personal service and wonderful selection of designer clothes.

At Moon you will find many well known and established designers such as: Betty Jackson, Diane von Furstenber, Sonia Speciale, Missoni Sport, Poleci, Allegra Hicks - the list is endless! You will also welcome the freshness and originality of designs by the "rising stars", whom Annie introduces to the West End. These include: Gharani Strok, Marc O'Neill, Cash CA Cashmere, Ramon Gurillo.

I popped into Moon recently to have a look at what's new for winter - there is a great mix of fun and fashion with lovely clothes in glorious colours and some really imaginative accessories. Annie has some new ranges including Daniel Gornaggia, Georgina von Eztzdorf and Pazuki.

There are clothes for every occasion - elegant, stylish confident outfits, glorious beaded coats, finely tailored suits, relaxed suits and soft plaids. The selection is enticing and extensive and manages to combine class, quality, panache and frivolity - as Annie says:

"If we can dress Oscar and Bafta winners then surely we will have something beautiful for you from our collections".

You can have a serious search for that something special or just enjoy a good browse - you will find clothes in sizes 8 - 16. Also stocked is some great jewellery and a range of tasteful accessories by designers such as Kirt Holmes, Barbara Harris, Joanna Luca and Jas M.B. I was captivated by the beautiful embroidered and the enormous soft leather handbags

Regular customers receive a newsletter letting them know of special events and sales (which are great for picking up that special outfit at a bargain price).

In the 30 years Moon has been in the West End it has more than made its mark and the media attention and awards that Moon has attracted come as no surprise: The shop is included in the National Good Clothes Guide (merit award winner) and has been featured extensively in the press and fashion magazines such as Women's Journal and Vogue. This September(2004) Harpers & Queen described the shop as "the wee wonder of Byres Road and according to Scotland on Sunday:

'You will be spoiled for choice for classic designer fashions for all occasions... Annie Good has the knack of knowing exactly what is right for each client ...You'll be over the Moon when you see the beautiful outfits'.

So when you are out and about in Byres Road take the opportunity to stroll down Ruthven Lane and explore Moon. You will certainly not be disappointed and could even spruce up your image.

I am, lets say too young to actually get my designs out there but i think i have real good ideas and i don't know how and don't want to sew. But it would be awesome for my designs to be out there. I don't want them to go to waist just as long as they can be made. I need to find some professional to sew them!

Hi there, I'm a second year fashion business student at glasgow caledonian university and i'm currently looking for work placement for next semester(end of jan - april). I'm interested in smaller establishments rather than large companies because I'd get a greater understanding of the runnings of the business instead of just one department. I'm keen to learn a bit more about buying aswell. I dont know if you do work placements or anything but i'd be interested to hear back from you. thanks :)

Dear Sir/Madam, I am a student of Twynham GCSE textiles. For my major project I am going to make a dress in the style of R&B and with a butterfly design. I was wondering whether you could answer some questions that I have to help me make a good enough dress. What colours are in fashion at the moment? Is sexy better than plain? What kind of price do consumers go up to for a dress? Is revealing parts of the body a good idea for my dress? What is preferred, short or long dresses? What styles are in fashion at the moment? What colour would you use to make a dress? Thank you for your time to read this and I look forward to hopefully hearing your reply soon with your answers. Yours Faithfully Clare Grant
