The Drawing Room is one of Glasgow's most appealing restaurant/bars in a great location adjacent to Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. The enthusiastic young team behind the enterprise have worked a small miracle in providing good food, entertainment and exhibitions within an unpretentious and friendly environment.

The restaurant offers very good value with chef, Agata Branco, producing excellent classic dishes dsescribed as "having a modern edge with Mediterranean influences". When I went along to sample the fare, I had some delicious lamb and garlicky potatoes and my companian, Rosemary, licked her lips after a chicken dish, which she found 'absolutely delicious'.

Opening times

Food is served at The Drawing Room Drawing Room between 12 - 10.00 pm Friday and Saturday
12.30 p.m. - 9.30 p.m. Sunday
5 p.m. - 9.00 p.m. Monday - Thursday.

It is advisable to book at week-ends when they are particularly busy - with the Sunday Roast Dinners proving to be especially popular.
The Drawing Room - Sample Menu

Photo: view drawing room. The Drawing Room makes an excellent venue for parties and private functions. They have even catered for a celebratory brunch - requested by an American couple, who liked the place so much they decided to come back and make The Drawing Room part of their their wedding celebrations.
Buffets with various options can be provived for your party.

Also proving to be exceptionally popular is the 'King Monkey' Pub Quiz, which takes place every Tuesday 8.30 - 11 p.m. These nights are usually packed affairs, with people clearly loving the entertainment and quality of the quiz on offer. It's already seen as one of the best quizzes in Glagow and people often make a night of it - coming along for a meal in the restaurant before getting down to some serious quiz action.

A similar pattern is emerging on Thursday's at 'The Quiet Riot', an acoustic music night hosted by the very talented young Irish musician John Deery. You'll be able to hear some of Glasgow's best live music and encounter accomplished and upcoming musicians, while enjoying some of the special drink promotions on the night. (9.00 p.m - midnight).

Being located so near Kelvingrove Art Gallery, it is very apt to find an art theme at The Drawing Room. Colin Tenant, a graduate of Glasgow School of Art,is responsible for curating their contemporary art exhibitions, where they showcase a different artist every month. As well as being on display the art work is for sale so if you see anything you fancy you can always pick up some original art.
Currently the work of Trish Gibson is on exhibition Nature/Nurture

It's no surprise that The Drawing Room is very swiftly acquiring a very loyal and every growing clientele. One newish and enthusiastic regular, told me that he felt that he felt like he had "been going there for years" and that it was "one of the friendliest places in town".

I think he could be right!
