Originally London's biggest pirate radio station, Rinse FM is without doubt the UK's most respected place for grime, dubstep, UK garage, UK funky and drum and bass - the first to provide exposure for the likes of Dizzee Rascal and Wiley, and home to DJs from Skream and Redlight to Kode9 and Plastician.

Glasgow Music and Film Fest: Silver Apples at Mono
Glasgow Music & Film Festival
Sunday, February 26, 2012
8:30pm until 11:00pm
£10 + bf
The forefathers of electronic rock as we know it...
Formed in 1967, Silver Apples made unprecedented sounds. Originally part of a rock band, the group soon reduced to Danny Taylor and Simeon Coxe III after the latter’s obsession with oscillators effectively pushed the other members off stage......
After much recuperation after an accident 2007 marked the return of Simeon, one of music’s most enigmatic characters, delighting fans by reappearing behind his army of oscillators at select festivals across the world.
Needless to say, we’re delighted to have the master himself here as part of the GMFF for a rare gig.

Scroobius Pip & B.Dolan
The Arches
Wednesday, February 29, 2012
7:30pm until 11:00pm
One of the key faces in the post-millennial spoken word scene, vocalist and rapper Scroobius Pip first came to public attention with Thou Shalt Always Kill, the first single from his chart-bothering collaboration with producer dan le sac.
Angry yet wry, sharp yet contemplative, his lyrics are a provocative snapshot of the state of the nation as it stands – and an example of the diverse creativity stemming from the growing cultural unease and political disaffection of the past ten years.
Support comes from performance artist and MC B.Dolan, following one of his infamously energetic, genre-straddling live shows at the Arches last year.

Mary Jean Lewis
Saturday 3rd of March
Woodend Bowling and Tennis Club
Mary Jean Lewis (niece of Jerry Lee Lewis) with her Low Men and Des Horsfall and Andy McKerlie Doors 8.00 - £10
Mary Jean Lewis is part of a musical legacy that started back in the fifties with her uncle, Jerry Lee. She's a dynamic personality and performer exuding all the charm you would expect from a Louisiana woman. She draws on a range of country, blues, and rock n roll to create her own soulful style based on her powerful voice and intimate connection with the lyrics.
Mary Jean Lewis with her band, the Low Men are making quite a name for themselves on the Roots music scene playing a mixture of country, pop, rockabilly and rock n roll. This night in March promises to be an intimate occasion as she takes us on a journey through American roots music accompanied by Martin Barrett (guitar), JT Davidson (pedal steel) and Sy McBain (doghouse bass).
Also playing this night is Des Horsfall and Andy McKerlie.
