Persephone in Colour– June Blog from Bob Law
Every year it has occurred since the first Dawn. Persephone has never failed to rise from that grey underworld, bringing her gifts of spring. The “Great Green” that sweeps the land. The rainbow of colours. “There are Patterns in Nature, everywhere”, if you have eyes to see them. First comes Crocus Lawn… then Bluebell Forest…then the galaxy of fresh green leaves. Into this universe she sends her angels… the “Tiny Dancers” who do her bidding.
Did the first bee work so tirelessly without thanks. Did the first Damselfly move with such grace and precision, inspiring humans when they finally came along and watched. Damsel is an ancient word. A young girl/lady. Did Damselflies, which would be a common sight to all in fields and water-meadows in spring and early summer inspire the symbol of love and the human heart? Who knows but design exists everywhere in nature.
Will it still survive, despite our increasing interference? Will the clockwork toys in her living army still function, if we continue to kick them about and abuse them?
The bees and all the rest seem to be winding down. Can we live in a world without them?
You decide…
