City Sightseeing – the Fun Way to Discover Glasgow
28 June 2013 to 1 September 2013
Starts at George Square West
City Sightseeing Glasgow’s red buses are a familiar sight as they travel around the city and offer a great day out for all the family. Their hop-on and hop-off open top tours operate every 15 minutes during the peak summer months and stop at 24 stops throughout the city, taking in the city’s popular visitor attractions including the Riverside Museum, Kelvingrove Museum and the People’s Palace. Tickets are valid for two consecutive days which is very useful if you have children who might not last the full 1 hour and 45 minute tour or you might want to explore one of the stops more. A family ticket costs £26 (valid for 2 adults and up to 3 kids) and also offers great value for money.
As well as recorded commentary in 9 different languages including an English version narrated by famous historian Neil Oliver, they also have knowledgeable live guides on regular journeys.
Theres also a new commentary especially for kids called Ghoulish Glasgow.
Ghoulish Glasgow takes everyone from ages 8+ on a journey with two fictional historic characters from Glasgow’s past – Emily and Ingles. The really interesting part is that Emily and Ingles are ghosts and tell passengers all about Glasgow’s ghostly, grim and ghastly past.
