Built in 1924, Kelvingrove Bandstand and Amphitheatre hosted an extraordinary variety of live music and performance until closure in the 1990s due to disrepair. With support from the public, Heritage Lottery Fund and Glasgow Building Preservation Trust, the site is now restored to its former glory and fully equipped. Laura Bennison, Heritage and Audience Development Officer, and pattern maker and woodcarver Ruth Davies, will provide an insight into the work behind its redevelopment.
