For those of you who watch and read these fateful words wandering across your screen, wondering whether this writer is for real or a delusional fantasist, now is your chance to find out.

On Tuesday 17th July at 4.30 p.m., Dear Miss Landau will be reviewed on BBC Radio 4's A Good Read.

On Thursday 19th July at 7.30 p.m., I myself will appear (not by magic but by appointment) at the Oxfam bookshop, 330 Byres Road.

I might even bring Drusilla along, and I promise my erstwhile vampire flatmate will not bite!
