Fiona Hunter & Mike Vass

8th July

Fiona is one of Scotland’s foremost traditional singers and is fast garnering a reputation as a highly gifted song interpreter and 2014 saw the release of Fiona’s highly acclaimed debut solo album, featuring songs from her native Glasgow and beyond. Fiona has been singing as part of renowned folk song group Malinky for the best part of a decade and she has also been nominated three times in the Scots Singer of the Year category at the awards. Mike is regarded as one of Scotland’s finest fiddle players, in great demand as a performer, composer and teacher.

Iain Thomson & Marc Duff

Iain has been described as a man who writes contemporary songs with a traditional twist.

Iain’s compositions are written sensitively and his songs and tunes of the changing face of rural Argyll move the hearts and souls of his audience. Marc is known primarily for co-founding Capercaillie with whom he has toured extensively and made many successful recordings. Since leaving Capercaillie in 1995 to pursue his own career, he has worked with many prominent artists, playing low D whistle, Bodhran, bouzouki and wind synthesizer.

Sinsheen

Sinsheen is a singing duo consisting of Christine Kydd and Barbara Dymock- each a fine singer in her own right, now working together. They have built a reputation among roots music lovers for originality, virtuosity, rich harmonies and the livest of live performances. Combining power, passion and pedigree, these dynamic veterans of the Scottish music world contrast stark harmony vocals with light instrumental and percussive backing.
