Aye Write Festival 2014: Remembering Iain Banks 4th April
Remembering Iain Banks
4 Apr 2014 • 6:00 P.M – 7:00 P.M • Mitchell Library
In this special celebration, we pay tribute to one of the true greats of modern Scottish literature.
Iain Banks’ last public performance was at the Mitchell Library during Book Week Scotland 2012. In this special celebration, we pay tribute to one of the true greats of modern Scottish literature, whose imagination stretched from small-town Fife to the edge of the known universe. Just before his death, Iain was working on “fettling” his poetry, and there will be exclusive readings from Ken Macleod, Ron Butin and other friends of his yet-to-bepublished poetry as well as reminiscence, recollection and more than a few jokes.
