Thursday 15th May
Clydebank Library, Dumbarton Rd, Clydebank, G81 1XH
7:30 pm
To celebrate its 21st anniversary this year, Glasgow Women’s Library commissioned 21 artists and 21 writers to produce artworks, poems and stories inspired by the library’s archives for their beautifully illustrated anthology 21 Revolutions.
These new pieces of writing have drawn from the archive’s unique collections of items and artefacts ranging from suffragette memorabilia to recipe books to album covers.
Find out how writers Anne Donovan (pictured top left) and Leela Soma (pictured bottom left) found their inspiration and hear them read from their stories: Leela Soma’s Boxed In – a tale of a young girl in South India who works in a safety match factory and Anne Donovan’s Lassie wi a Yella Coatie.
