Rose Ruane is an artist and writer. Her debut novel This is Yesterday was published by Corsair books, and she is currently undertaking a PhD at Glasgow university. She is using creative writing to explore the Adamson Collection; around six thousand artworks produced by in the groundbreaking art therapy programme at Netherne Asylum in Surrey by individuals compelled to reside there.
Creative Conversations is programmed by the Creative Writing Programme at University of Glasgow and funded by the Ferguson Bequest. Professor Thomas Ferguson (1900-1977), Henry Mechan Chair of Public Health (1944-64), bequeathed his estate to the University, with the instruction that the money should be used to foster the social side of University life.
