Now in its third year, The Spree is Paisley’s annual celebration of arts and culture – and is now firmly established as a fixture on the Scottish festival map.
The Spiegeltent, County Square is the main venue but there will be events also taking place in many city centre venues.
Music and comedy includes:
The centrepiece musical event will be a one-off collaboration between King Creosote, Roddy Hart and the Lonesome Fire, and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, in the stunning setting of Paisley Abbey. Other musical highlights include a show by Dougie MacLean– fresh from his Commonwealth Games closing ceremony performance – as well as a Scottish Album of the Year showcase headlined by Young Fathers. And we have more than a few big-name comedy acts too – with one-time Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Russell Kane bringing his latest show to Paisley Town Hall, plus appearances from half-man half-Xbox Daniel Sloss and Spree favourite Craig Hill. There’s also loads going on for kids too (do you like Lego? You’ll like The Spree!) as well as theatre, film, community and local history events…and even a hypnotist! The Spree is brought to you by Renfrewshire Council
