Saturday 1st February 11am – 2pm

Our bio-diverse project is 1 year old this week!. A fabulous year of walks, talks, films and outdoor family fun. Help us celebrate this Saturday with our Bio-diverse birthday bash, taking place in the community garden. Lots of free fun activities including making a Bird Seed Birthday Cake, being a nature detective as well as some tasty outdoor cooking. Bring some cakes to share if you can. Check out our full bio-diverse programme for February on our website http://www.woodlandscommunitygarden.org.uk/events/

Local Social Support Hub Project

Our Local Food Social Support Hub Project was launched in December, at an event attended by 90 people. This new project will be providing free healthy meals, information and support to people affected by cuts in welfare or who otherwise are struggling to make ends meet. We will also be running free cookery classes to help people cook on limited budgets, including classes targeted at people experiencing mental health problems.

Our February/March programme is just being printed, with our next food hub events taking place

Saturday 8th February 12-3pm (Albany Centre),
Wednesday 12th February 6-8pm (Albany Centre)
Sunday 16th February 12-3pm (Windsor Hall)
Monday 24th February 6-8pm (Fred Paton Centre).

Check our website or get in touch[email protected] for more information

Food Hub Volunteer Training Thursday 6th February

6-9pm at Fred Paton Centre, 19 Carrington Street, G4 9AJ

Come along to meet other volunteers helping with the project, find out about how you can help, and get more information on preparing food and welfare reform! And share a meal together at the beginning of the session. We are hoping to have a creche.
