RUN THE ROAD - SUNDAY 17 JUNE, EAGLESHAM

Following the success of Run the Road 2006 Poppyscotland invites you to join in a family fun event to help raise money for Erskine.

You can choose to cycle, run or walk a 10k scenic route after which you will be presented with a fabric poppy to plant, creating a huge floral display in the village. There will then follow an afternoon of fun and entertainment for families to enjoy.

One of Poppyscotland's key functions is to donate to organisations that deliver specialist support to veterans in Scotland. Money raised from Run the Road will be donated to Erskine to purchase a vehicle specially-adapted for wheelchair use, enabling staff to take residents to essential medical appointments. This will help free up Erskine's minibus for group outings.

Run the Road is being fronted by the Logan Family, BBC sports presenter Gabby and former Scotland rugby star Kenny Logan with their twins, Reuben and Lois.

Gabby said: "We are really pleased to be helping Run the Road for Poppyscotland. It will be a great opportunity for families to spend some time together and enjoy an afternoon out in the fresh air. Having three different events means that there is something for everyone's level of fitness and the entertainment afterwards will ensure the kids are kept amused!

Entry fees are: Adults: £7 Children 5-16 yrs: £4 Under-5s: free

There is also a family ticket at £20 (2 adults, 2 children)
