An alternative way to spend your lunch break -laughing! Come along to Laugh N De-stress on the first Wednesday of the month. Laughter Yoga is a fun form of exercise, good for all that strengthens the immune system, unwinds the negative effects of stress and makes you feel good in the here and now. There are no contortions, jokes or comedy and previous experience or equipment is not required. You don't even need to be happy for it to work! Laughter supplies our body with fresh oxygen, strengthen the immune system and boost "happy" brain chemistry. Come along for the 30 minute session in your lunch break and watch how it changes your day or attend the full workshop which includes creative play, games, discussion and relaxation. 'I sent the rest of the day feeling energised and happy' Gayle Ritchie The Daily Record 'I leave feeling good about the world and its people.' Marianne Halavage, the Herald Magazine The benefits are almost immediate, too. In the days following the workshop, I find that I?m laughing more often, but that I?m also calmer in everyday life and better at dealing with small stresses and niggles. Kirstin Innes, the List Magazine Very inspiring! Good to interact with others and let my guard down with collegues. Kerri Roberts, Communications Assistant, Learning and Teaching Scotland 'I personally felt a 1000 times better' Mary Lunday, Assistant Headteacher, Largs Academy ?10 full session ?4 Lunchbreak ?8 concession Please book places are limited.

I would like to go to a Tai Chi class for beginners. I stay in Dennistoun so the West End would be easy to get to. I would prefer an evening class on either Wednesday or Thursday. If anyone knows of a class then please email me.

Hello! I'm a mature (35) law student living in the west end, looking for a Squash or Tennis partner. I enjoy the physical workout as much as the game itself, so someone of a good level of fitness would be ideal. If you fancy a game, I would love to hear from you. Stephen

Pilates Local Fitness Instructor Sarah-Jane Hunter is leading the way forward with a new exercise class in the area. Pilates (pronounced pee-lah-tees) is a mix of yoga, the Alexander technique and gentle body conditioning exercises. Pilates which is one of the most popular exercises trends focuses on abdominal work, postural exercises and breathing using the unique Pilates technique ensuring amazing results. Because of the very gentle and precise approach to exercise, Pilates is being recommended by physiotherapists and GPS to help patients strengthen backs, improve their posture and work on the deep abdominal muscles. The response to Pilates in the West End has been amazing. It?s such a relaxing and calming way to exercise deep muscles and the benefits of doing Pilates regularly are numerous. Anyone from teenagers to the elderly can do this form of exercise. I have teenagers exercising alongside grandmothers as everyone works to their own capability. Throughout the session I am constantly checking that the students technique is correct. As a local business or heath organisation in the area, I would like to offer you and your staff a ?5 discount off the price of the 6 week Pilates course. (normal price ?30) Please quote this letter when booking your space. If you would like some leaflets to display in your place of work, please do not hesitate to call me on 07891 663521 or email at sj_aerobic@hotmail.com The next 6 week Pilates course will start on Thursday 21st July at 7pm and Tuesday 2nd August at 6pm ? both classes are held in The Annexe Health Living Centre 9a Stewartville Street Partick. If you would like to find out more about Pilates and the classes available in your area, call Sarah-Jane on 07891 663521 or e-mail sj_aerobic@hotmail.com website www.sjfitnessclasses.com You are advised to bring a mat or a towel, and a drink.
