belong a fantastic new jewellery shop has been launched in Glasgow's West End. The owners are, Scottish designer, Dawn Forrest and her husband David, who previously ran the shop as Chaebol. Their new shop is quite wonderful and without doubt it will to be a favourite for all men, women and children with a passion for jewellery design.
The collections at belong are unique and desirable with everything being handpicked, or crafted to Dawn's own specifications - influenced by trend predictions, and co-ordinating with the Seasons’ colours and styles. She has been successful in seeking out skilled craftspeople from all over the world to bring some wonderful jewellery to this West End shop.
She has used her own talents to produce some fantastic pieces, including the very imaginative bow-tie, which reflects many of the elements which make the jewellery stand out; including detailed finishings and quality materials. You’ll find freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystals and real stones of every hue - to name but a few! Some of the silver used is even purer than sterling silver; the type used to create their irresistible handmade roses.
At belong you can indulge in something really spectacular without breaking the bank. Dawn points out that:
'Sometimes when sourcing the jewellery we find only one or two of a piece we love, so sometimes a piece can be a 'one-off' and 'once it's gone, it's gone', but that just adds to the fun and excitement of constantly finding new pieces.'
'Our boutique is dedicated to jewellery but includes finishing touches like scrumptious silk scarves - the colours are simply delicious! People who shop with us can enjoy the fact that they might be the only person in Scotland, or indeed the world, who will own one of our pieces. That’s true individuality!'

Having taken over the reins from the previous owners a while back, Dawn and her team have evolved dramatically. They have transformed the shop and created a stylish and relaxed environment, where you can pore over their breath-taking collections. You will find cabinet upon cabinet of necklaces, bracelets, brooches, rings and earrings in every material and hue imaginable. The only problem you are likely to encounter is making your mind up.
They continue to have the biggest selection of body jewellery around, with access to much more, should a customer have something particular in mind. However, the focus is very much on their diverse range of jewellery and they no longer provide a piercing service.
It really is a great place for a browse, I popped in for five minutes to have a quick look and was still there an hour later. Staff at belong are friendly and helpful, whether you are just passing, planning a special purchase or after a wee treat you will be able to relax and take your time making your choice.
There is even jewellery for girls and boys with a newly arrived children's range designed by Dawn - with a little help from her sons, it's great fun and is already being snapped up.
The prices at belong are very affordable and every item has the price tag clearly on display and you also have the option of purchasing gift vouchers. The shop is characterised by quality and a tremendous attention to detail, they strive to respond to customers' demands and constantly introduce new themes. Everything is beautifully presented and the packaging tasteful - so whatever you buy, you can take away in a gorgeous bag!
