Woodlands Community Garden – August Events
Woodlands Workspace: Volunteer Work Day
Sunday August 10th 11am – 4.30pm
Join us to help improve the perimeter of the Woodlands Workspace site at 127 West Princes Street, creating a safer and more attractive entrance to the site. Volunteers needed to help us to tidy up the gap site, cut back overgrowth and help remove the existing fencing, and install the new one. We can also update you about progress with our longer term plans for the site when we see you on the 10th
Wild Words
Creative Writing and Spoken Word Collaboration,
inspiration and discussion on creative and ecological themes
WILD WORDS is our own creative writing and spoken word group. Regular meetings take place in the community garden on the first and third Thursday of the month from 6-8pm and we also host regular walks, workshops and events. No previous writing experience is needed, just bring a pen and paper and use the garden as inspiration for your work.

Communal Gardening
Join us every Wednesday (1-4) and Sunday (11-4.30) for some communal gardening. Help with us watering, weeding, garden maintenance and repairs. Get outdoors and active and enjoy a cuppa in the beautiful surroundings of Woodlands Garden.

Join us at the community garden to increase your confidence and skills in growing your own food. Suitable for people whatever their gardening experience. The classes are free, but donations are welcome to support our work. Conserving Woodlands:
Weekend Art Workshops
Photography, drawing and Printing

In collaboration with Glasgow Print Studios, we are running a series of workshops that will help document the Woodlands Conservation Area. These take place in the Woodlands area over the weekend of 23rd and 24 August, with a follow up weekend happening at Glasgow Print Studios over the weekend of 6-7 September.

Our food hub project provides free healthy meals, information and support to people affected by cuts in welfare or who otherwise are struggling to make ends meet. People in need of support can attend our food hubs without the need for a referral or voucher.

Necropolis Nature Walk
Saturday 30th August 2-4pm
Join us and a number of wildlife experts to discover the amazing wildlife that makes Glasgow Necropolis a living graveyard! We’ll also learn about important nature related individuals who now rest in peace there.
