John Travolta shot to stardom in this iconic disco movie

John Travolta graduated from minor celebrity to genuine superstar with Saturday Night Fever. Tony Manero is an uneducated and immature teenager from Brooklyn, working in a dead end job. The highlight of his week is going to the local disco, where he is king of the dancefloor. He becomes disillusioned with his life after agreeing to dance in a competition with Stephanie, who dreams of moving to Manhattan. Travolta’s towering performance coupled with the iconic disco soundtrack made Saturday Night Fever a seminal film of the 70s.
