Heritage Festival West Dunbartonshire- Speakeasy
Monday 18 March, 2026 7 p.m.
The Clydesider Magazine has organised a Heritage Festival to celebrate West Dunbartonshire’s rich heritage. Some forty events have been organised. As part of the heritage celebration.
“I am organising a ‘Speakeasy’ at the Fountain Tavern on Monday 18th May from 7 p.m. I am hoping to give participants five to ten minutes for their presentation but that will depend on the number wanting to take part. Anyone who has a local story or anecdote connected to West Dunbartonshire heritage, in prose, poetry, song or telling, is invited to get in touch.”(Email Mary Irvine) Or send message via Facebook

“It is not aimed solely at writers. Everyone has a story to tell and we’d like to hear it. We already have an account of childhood from a lady now living in Virginia. Her sister will be reading this account on her behalf.”
“We would also like an audience so feel free to come along and enjoy the nostalgia!”
“The Fountain Tavern does not usually open in the evenings but is opening especially for this community event.”
