Lids Open Day Mackintosh Festival, Queens Cross Church, 22 October, 2017

Lids Open Day returns to this beautiful building for the 5th time as part of this year’s Mackintosh Festval program, though in a bit of a departure from the usual format with NO BOOKING REQUIRED ! No tickets required though please follow the link in the ‘tickets’ section of this event to visit the Glasgow Piano City website for full details of how the day will play out. Roughly as follows:11am ~1pm, piano students & beginners / 1~2.30pm, ‘Free Play’ on the Steinway Grand Piano in the main hall. 2.30~4pm Singers and Players by invitation including: Kate Barrie, Geoff Angus, Helen Minnis, Grace Allison, Sam Koepplinger and Alan Kenny. Audience welcome to come along and listen from 1pm ( You can also catch Ivan Penev playing a selection of Liszt pieces around 11.40am ) If you turn up from 1-2.30pm you can enjoy playing in a unique space with one of the finest acoustics in Glasgow. You can also play 2 more pianos on the day including ‘Beatirix~Rose’ decorated by Avril Paton ( see photo )
This event is FREE TO ENTER ~ though we will happily accept any donations towards our project’s ongoing life.
