James Robertson – Live Author Event

James Robertson with talk about writing historical fiction, taking in the ways that the past lives on in the present, finding connections across different historical eras, and writing about history in the making while living through its events.
James Robertson is one of Scotland’s foremost writers, and is the author of several historical novels including: ‘And the Land Lay Still’, an epic story of twentieth-century Scotland, Joseph Knight, which confronts Scotland’s role in the transatlantic slave trade, and ‘The Fanatic’, set between seventeenth and late-twentieth century Edinburgh. He also writes poetry, short stories and children’s fiction.
