Belle de Jour, GFT, 18/19 October, 2017

Severine, the very reserved wife of Pierre, has masochistic fantasies that reveal her sexual frustration. Driven by curiosity, she secretly pays a visit to a brothel. Unknown to Pierre, she soon becomes “Beauty of the Day”, the third girl in Madame Anaïs’ discreet house of ill repute. She seems to have found an inner peace through the satisfaction of her clients’ desires, but things turn sour when Marcel, a loutish regular visitor to the bordello, insists on having Severine all to himself. 50th Anniversary Digital Restoration.
