Rebuilding GFF26 Glasgow Youth Takeover

Rebuilding

Friday 6 March, 2026, 8 p.m.

The GFF Youth Takeover returns! Join us at Adelaide Place for a night of FREE food, live music and exceptional cinema, curated by the Glasgow Film Festival Young Ambassadors.

This event is FREE but ticketed. It is exclusively for GFT 15-25 card-holders, and young people referred by GFT partner charities and organisations.

For one night only, Adelaide Place becomes the Colorado desert! Arrive in plenty of time to fully enjoy all the Youth Takeover has to offer, including delicious food and special activities. Then settle down for a screening of Rebuilding, followed by live music.

Josh O’Connor confirms his status as one of the most talented actors of his generation in this deeply felt performance as a cowboy reconnecting with his young daughter. After a forest fire destroys his livelihood, Dusty (O’Connor) finds solace among others who have been displaced. Intimacies unfold against the vast expanse of the Colorado desert, instilling in the viewer an almost transcendental sense of peace. Featuring a standout turn from newcomer Lily LaTorre, Rebuilding is a quietly uplifting story of grief, community and resilience.

Keen to break away from the idea that young people are only interested in films about youth, the GFF Young Ambassadors picked this film because of its themes of community and family, its broad appeal, and its uplifting message.

Please collect your ticket from the GFT Box Office before attending the event at Adelaide Place. 209 Bath Street, Glasgow, G2 4HZ
