BLUEGRASS CONCERT - Queen Margaret Hall
Join the 'Dapper McDans' and their friends for an evening of toe tapping and tuneful music in Bluegrass and Old Time styles. These were strongly influenced by Scottish and Celtic tunes, songs and rhythms, and anyone who has seen the George Clooney film 'Oh Brother, Where Art Thou' will have a clear idea of what to expect.
Bluegrass was famously described as being 'Folk music in overdrive', and it certainly is high energy. This contrasts well with the more mellow and often humorous tones of Old Time music - the original songs and tunes of the settlers in the Appalachian Mountains of SW America.
Tickets £4 on the door, no concessions
