Santa's Little Helpers were out in force at the weekend at Stravaigin 2, to bring some festive cheer to diners at the West End restaurant by baking and decorating their very own Christmas decorations.

As the Christmas season rapidly approaches, local children are being invited to take a hands-on approach to help decorate the restaurant by making festive gingerbread men, stars and trees, to add a touch of sparkle and glitter to the atmospheric restaurant.

Staff at Stravaigin 2 brought their little angels to the Ruthven Lane restaurant on Saturday morning to make traditional gingerbread decorations which will be hung on the Christmas tree and from the ceiling of the eatery.

The imaginative idea provided the kids with an opportunity to get involved in the kitchen and also provided parents with some inspiration to keep them occupied over the Christmas holidays.

Colin Clydesdale, owner of the Stravaigin 2, said: 'We wanted to redecorate the restaurant for Christmas with some new and imaginative decorations, but didn't want to take away from the atmosphere of the place, and getting the kids involved seemed like the perfect solution.

'The kids loved painting and decorating the gingerbread shapes and it's a great way to introduce them to cooking and to inspire them at a young age.

You are invited to bring your kids along to Stravaigin 2, Ruthven Lane, just off Byres Road, on Saturday, Dec 2nd, from 11am to 3pm, to help decorate the restaurant by painting your very own gingerbread decorations.

Children can then either take them home or add them to the Christmas decorations in the restaurant.
To book your child a place please call Stravaigin 2 on 0141 334 7165.
