Charlie Gracie, Donal McLaughlin & Mairi Murphy are three local writers with strong Irish roots. One emigrated to Paisley as a child, whilst two are second generation. The childhoods of all three coincided with the Civil Rights movements in the US & Northern Ireland, creating an awareness of different forms of discrimination and the struggle for basic human rights. In this relaxed reading, hear how these experiences have informed the stories & poems of these authors about emigration & immigrant experience.
