Thursday 26th June: SONS OF KEMET
Winners of the MOBO award for Best Jazz Act 2013, Sons of Kemet’s music draws on jazz tradition, Jamaican heritage and New Orleans street music to produce music that is powerful, lyrical and, above all, fiercely original.
Expect idiosyncratic but danceable grooves, improvised twists and a passion and conviction which set this new band apart. Jazzwise magazine describe Sons of Kemet as “easily the most exciting band …on the new BritJazz scene over the last year.”
