7th and 8th May, 2020
Websters Theatre, 416 Great Western Road, Glasgow G4 9HZ
Captivate Theatre celebrate the life of Robert Burns, Scotland’s ploughman poet, saintly sinner and genius. Frequently hilarious, often poignant and always witty, this musical celebration takes Rabbie Burns off the shortbread tin and brings him to full-blooded, all action life.

“Stunningly beautiful musical theatre…” ★★★★. (Scotsgay)
“It’s almost impossible not to find yourself engaged in every moment…” ★★★★.
‘It’s wonderful to see local history brought to life on stage…with rousing group songs and skilful close harmonies, plus some striking individual vocals’ (theweereview)
“This musical is a unique opportunity to enjoy and reflect on the life, words and music of Scotland’s greatest poet – and national treasure.”
‘Captivate’s Rabbie explodes into a glorious, fast moving and robust portrayal of the short brilliant life of Robert Burns. From impoverished poet to national celebrity to dying as a despised exciseman, the small cast of nine played their fast-changing roles with style and vigour.’
