EVENT PASSED 2018 Gavin Sutherland ‘ Swinging Christmas’ at Glasgow City Halls

Conductor, arranger and composer Gavin Sutherland will be making his BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra conducting debut in two fantastic concerts at Glasgow’s City Halls, Candleriggs, Glasgow G1 1NQ
21 December, 2018 7.30 p.m.
For ‘Swingin’ Christmas’ he will be joined by jazz singer and broadcaster Clare Teal, in a sparkling, effervescent mix of Christmas classics and undiscovered gems alongside some finger-snapping arrangements of popular hits.

Gavin Sutherland presents Christmas at the Movies’ alongside singer and BBC Radio Scotland presenter Jamie MacDougall.
From the sweeping melodies of Hollywood’s Golden Age, to selections from recent multiplex blockbusters, via Disney favourites and John Williams classics, there’s something for every generation. Alongside his popular and light music concert engagements, Gavin has been the Music Director of English National Ballet since 2008, and Principal Conductor of since 2010. Gavin has also conducted at esteemed international cultural hubs including the Royal New Zealand Ballet and the New National Ballet of Japan. In addition, Gavin has conducted at the BBC Proms and is a regular conductor for BBC Radio 2’s Friday Night Is Music Night.
