A startling portrait of modern Russia.
On 17 January 2013, Sergei Filin, the director of the world famous Bolshoi Ballet company was ambushed outside his home and had dangerous acid thrown into his face. He suffered third degree burns on his face and neck, and lost the sight in one of his eyes. Over the following year, the company struggled to retain its footing whilst it emerged that the attacks came from a dancer within the company. Directors Nick Read and Mark Franchetti gain remarkable access to the company in this startling portrait of modern Russia.
The Sun 10 Jan screening will be followed by a live satellite Q&A with Bolshoi principle dancer, Anastasia Meskova, the filmmakers, plus bestselling historian Simon Sebag Montefiore.
