Aye Write 2021 Eco Tips for Your Home and Family

Nancy Birtwhistle & Jen Gale chaired by Frankie Burr
21 May, 11.45 a.m.
Nancy Birtwhistle won the fifth series of The Great British Bake Off in 2014. Nancy worked as a GP practice manager in the NHS for thirty-six years until she retired in 2007. Motivated by protecting the planet for her ten grand-children, Nancy decided to change how she used plastic, single use products and chemicals in her home. In ‘Clean & Green‘, Nancy shares the simple recipes and methods she has developed, many of which are faster and easier than the go-to products and methods most of us use now. As a parent, getting out of the house with everyone wearing shoes (on a good day) can feel like you’re winning, so adding ‘being green’ to the never-ending to-do list might feel like the thing to bring all your spinning plates crashing to the ground.
In Jen Gale’s ‘The Sustainable(ish) Guide to Green Parenting’, you’ll find easy, do-able ideas and suggestions for you to pick and choose from, try out and adapt. Plus bucketfuls of encouragement as you explore what works for you and your family.
*This performance is live and will be available to watch for three weeks after the broadcast date to accommodate different time zones.
