Hope | SWC Fundraising Competition: Poetry & Flash Fiction

The SWC is hosting their first ever fundraising comp! You are warmly invite you to share your creativity and submit an entry inspired by Hope!

Hope | SWC Fundraising Competition: Poetry & Flash Fiction

Deadline 28th February 2026. 23.59 p.m.

All proceeds will go directly toward assisting with event costs and activities for 2026.

Word Limit
Poetry- 30 lines maximum.

OR

Flash fiction- 250 words maximum.

Entry Fees – Really appreciate your support

£3 per entry for poetry

£3 per entry for Flash Fiction

£5 per entry for 1 Poetry & 1 Flash Fiction Entry
You can submit to either category or both.

Competition is open and closes on 23:59 28th February 2026.

Winners

The first prize winner in each category will receive a free year long membership to the Scottish Writers’ Centre (worth £25) plus a curated of books and pamphlets bundle commemorating our literary event history.

The poetry and flash fiction winners will be announced in April 2026. They will be organising an  in person or online celebration event.

How To Enter And Further Info

Please submit your entry by email to SWC Chair Tom Murray  via “booking a ticket” via eventbrite.

No names included on entries, title of poem/ FF only, in Times Roman font and size 12 type.
