The Arlington Baths Club, 61 Arlington Street Glasgow G3 6DT
The Bone on the Beach Glasgow Book Launch Event
Celebrate the release of Fiona Gillan Kerr’s captivating new novel, the Bone on the Beach.
Ringwood are delighted to invite you to an event, in collaboration with Book Week Scotland, that celebrates the launch of local author Fiona Gillan Kerr’s new novel, the Bone on the Beach. This event will be at the Arlington Baths, a beautiful community-run baths club just beside Charing Cross that has been open since 1871.
The Bone on the Beach is an enthralling contemporary mystery and ghost story – the Celtic legend of Deirdre of the Sorrows reimagined for the modern day. The most tragic of all Celtic legends, it is the tale of a young girl, trapped by men’s perceptions and the expectations of her community. Her only means of escape endangers her life and the lives of those she loves. In this contemporary retelling, two stories and lives are interwoven – that of Deirdre and of Meghan Bell – who, fifteen years later, revisits the mystery of Deirdre, seeking the truth behind the legend. If she can lay Deirdre’s spirit to rest, will they both find a way to move on, in this world and the next?
Thurso-based author Fiona Gillan Kerr will give readings of her novel, take part in a discussion about the book and its depiction and celebration of Highland culture, answer questions from the audience, and sign copies of her book.
At Ringwood they are dedicated to making events as accessible as possible for everyone. For accessibility information or inquiries, please get in touch with Ringwood via social media: @Ringwoodpublish on X and @ringwoodpublishing on Instagram.
