Chaophonies – Frankétienne & Mark Mulholland, 21st March, Alliance Francaise de Glasgow
Friday, March 21, 2014, 6:00pm
Chaophonies » is the fruit of a collaboration between the Haitian poet, painter, novelist, playwright and actor Frankétienne and the Scottish musician Mark Mulholland combining spoken word and music. Theatrical readings by Frankétienne of extracts from his book of poetry « Rapjazz, Journal d’un Paria » blend with original music composed and performed by Mark Mulholland. The reactions to the initial performance, in Jacmel, Haiti in March 2013, encouraged the pair to work on a recorded version of the project, and the resulting album will be released in March on Cannery Row Records and Jezus Factory Records Booking at the Language Office on 0141 331 4080 or in person in advance is necessary as places are strictly limited.
