‘Mixing The Colours’ Creative Writing Workshop with Magi Gibson, Women’s Library Glasgow
Saturday, March 1, 2014 – 1:00pm until 4:00pm
Saturday 1st March and Saturday 15th March 2014, 1pm to 4.00pm, Glasgow Women’s Library, 23 Landressy Street, Bridgeton, GlasgowG40 1BP : ‘Mixing The Colours’ Creative Writing Workshop with Magi Gibson.
The Scottish Writers’ Centre and Glasgow Women’s Library have teamed up with writer, Magi Gibson to offer this free workshop to women.
Whether you feel you were ever affected by sectarianism or not, you probably have stories to tell, poems to write. Did you ever see an Orange March or go to a Celtic game? Are there ‘mixed marriages’ in your family? What did it mean to you to grow up as a Protestant or a Catholic girl in Scotland? Scottish writing has stories, poems and dramas that explore the Catholic/Protestant experience. It’s part of our history, part of our culture, but women’s voices are all but silent. Glasgow Women’s Library through its Mixing The Colours project aims to uncover the thoughts, voices and experiences of Scottish women. Not only will this workshop help you get writing on these themes, but what you write will be considered for publication in a top-quality book, alongside established Scottish women writers. Don’t worry if you think you have nothing to say, or you think you have stories to tell but don’t know how. That’s what the workshop is about. So come along to: The Glasgow Women’s Library, 23 Landressy Street, Bridgeton, G40 1BP (Two minutes from Bridgeton Station. Easy on-street parking). This is a FREE event, open to all
