Following their sell out success of last year, The Sirens Of Titan Choir will present a new collection of contemporary carols and readings at Oran Mor on Christmas Eve. The performance, called Oran Mor Na Nollaig, will take place at 6pm (doors 5:30pm) in the main auditorium. Under the beautifully decorated vaulted ceiling they will perform freshly commissioned songs, carols and readings on the theme of Glasgow, Christmas, Now.

Composers include Gordon Rigby - Artistic Director of Oran Mor's A Concert, A Cocktail, and A Canape season; classical composer Wilma Patterson, Mick Cooke of Belle And Sebastian, and local celebrity actor Dave Anderson among others. John Byrne is among several writers currently being commissioned for short readings to be performed between the carols, on the same theme. In this way Glasgow singers, composers, writers and actors will combine to bring their own unique take on the Christmas season in Glasgow.

Choirmaster Paddy Cunneen is busy preparing for the Christmas Eve concert:

"The Oran Mor venue sits right in the heart of the West End, formerly a church and now a thriving pub and social focus its an ideal place to celebrate the contemporary spirit of Christmas in Glasgow. After the success of last year we are working hard - and having fun - creating another collection of pieces on how Glasgow sees itself at this time of year."

Choir member Zoe Higgins added:

"Last year there was such a good atmosphere in the auditorium, and choir and audience alike commented on how great it was to have the opportunity to come together to celebrate local talent and community spirit on Christmas Eve."

Tickets are £10 (including mulled wine and a mince pie) and are now available from www.ticketweb.co.uk
