Over 80 terns, made from Ardalanish wool from Mull and from recycled plastic, will arrive at The Lighthouse seeking shelter. Bird Yarns celebrates the feats of the Arctic tern, and reflects on the plight of migratory sea birds affected by environmental and climate change.

The result of a collaboration between artist Deirdre Nelson and an international community of knitters, Bird Yarns is part of Sea Change (Tionndadh na Mara), a Cape Farewell programme of expedition, residencies, events and exhibitions across the islands of Scotland. The project was a partnership with An Tobar in Tobermory.
